Govt procures medicines for hepatitis C patients

LAHORE
Punjab Hepatitis Control Programme has procured medicines for the treatment of deserving patients of hepatitis C.
The consignment of the medicines has reached Directorate General of Health Services, Punjab.
According to a handout issued here on Wednesday, a Health Department spokesman said that the medicines would be distributed among the hospitals all over Punjab at the earliest, once a formal inspection was completed. He said that all medicines had been stored at room temperature as there was no cold-chain item in this package.
The spokesman, however, informed that medicine samples had been collected by the area drug inspector and sent to lab for quality testing.

Moreover, Parliamentary Secretary on Health Khawaja Imran Nazir visited the stores on Wednesday and counter-verified all measures being taken by the Directorate General Health Services in this regard.
